Recycling Guide - Toner & Cartridges

Collecting empty ink cartridges and toner cartridges makes a valuable contribution to environmental protection. Simply throwing away empty cartridges is a shame, as many parts can be reused. Most providers therefore take back used ink and toner cartridges for reprocessing. We also forward the print modules we receive to specialized recycling companies via our partners. Depending on the model and design, wearing parts are replaced and the modules are refilled. They then receive a second life as refill or rebuilt cassettes.

In addition to the ecological added value, remanufactured printer cartridges are usually significantly cheaper than new ones. Another savings tip from WeRecycle: you can save the most when printing if you consider beforehand whether the document needs to be printed at all.

As a member of the VSPR (Association of Swiss Plastic Recyclers) we are committed to our charter. No member of the VSPR exports plastic waste for storage in landfills. However, there is no possibility of fine mechanical sorting in Switzerland. That's why, in certain cases, our partners use sorting capacities in countries close to the border in order to obtain the necessary sorting purity from the pre-sorted plastic for recycling so that it can then be regranulated in Switzerland.
